About 3" wide and 4" tall, in a 6" by 5" frame, this highly colorful butterfly is lucky to still be around. The brilliant yellow color makes it easy for predators to see. When everyone can see you, how do you escape?
You have to fly faster and be quicker. That's exactly the skill Phoebis Philea has developed. Males have an orange bar on the forewing, and females have smokey-red borders on their hindwing. The caterpillar is a yellowish-green with wrinkles and a black band on the side.
